Janet Harris Payne, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on April 15, 1953, in Sandston, Virginia. Janet devoted herself to the healthcare industry, where her commitment and nurturing spirit made a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients. Nursing was not just a profession for Janet; it was her life’s calling, reflecting her profound empathy and desire to care for those in need.

Beyond her medical career, Janet found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid lover of arts and crafts, a passion that allowed her to express her creativity through beautiful handmade gifts. Janet cherished her time in the mountains, where she found peace and tranquility, often accompanied by her family. An enthusiastic cook and a skilled crocheter, she poured her heart into each meal and crafted piece, sharing her love with those fortunate enough to receive them.

Janet is survived by her loving children; Kristy Abrams (Tyler), and Kevin Martin, Steven Martin; grandchildren, Shane and Austin Abrams; and brother, Chip Harris. Her family will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

Janet’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, at Falling Creek Baptist Church, 4701 Turner Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Janet Harris Payne will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her spirit lives on in the lives she enriched and the love she gave unconditionally.
