Obituary

Jeannette Anderson, 87, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1936 in Guyton, GA to the late William Alton and Emma Jeannette Oder. She was also preceded in death by her baby sister, Miriam Virginia. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Carolyn Culp (Daniel); son, John Lee Anderson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Margaret Anderson; grandchildren, John Lee Anderson, III and William Harrington Anderson (Stephanie); great grandchildren, William Harrington Anderson, Jr. and Steven Thomas Anderson; three beloved sisters, Nancy Ackerman, Billie Jean Humphreys, and Linda Barr, all of Rincon, GA; nieces and a nephew, Lynda Heithaus, Deborah Royall, Susan Lipscomb, Amy Barr Caldwell, Nancy Lockhart, Daniel Barr; numerous great nieces and nephews; her best friend since she was three, Frances King; and fur-baby, Dixie. Jeannette was a native of Effingham County, GA and graduated from Marlow Consolidated High in 1954. She joined the Women’s Army Corps in September of 1954 and served four years at Brooke Army Hospital at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. After leaving the Army, Jeannette lived in Richmond, VA and spent her career working as a Medical Transcriptionist at several hospitals in the Richmond area. Jeannette dearly loved cooking, plants, her family, and enjoyed spending time with them. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. Her graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
