Obituary

Jeremiah Jacob Ruffin, 18, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ethan Ruffin; grandfathers Clarence Ruffin, Sr. and Glen Bowen; and fiancé, Tracey Williams. Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Clarence Jr. and Candice Ruffin; brothers, Deandre Ruffin and Marcus Ballew; sisters, Ava and Lynette Ruffin; grandparents; Martha Ruffin, Randall Sr. and Lenore Manns, and Carol Bowen; great-grandmother, Nina Manns;  aunts, Jessica Bowen, Michelle Arroyo, and Sonya Whitfield; uncles, David Whitfield, Randall Manns, Jr., Alex Vermes, and Clifton Bowen. He is also survived by a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins, family and friends. Jeremiah was an avid sports fan, playing basketball and football throughout his years in school. In 2019 he was inducted by RTC Chapter of The National Technical Honor Society. Being awarded a scholarship and graduating from Huguenot High School in 2021 were highlights in his life. He attended on-line college classes throughout the COVID pandemic. A towering figure at six-foot-three, he will be remembered for his kind, gentle, loving spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh, horseplaying with his siblings and roughhousing with his friends and father. He showed his mother nothing but tenderness, hugs, love, and kisses. Jeremiah was always respectful and mature beyond his years, honoring his parents with all his heart. Always quick with a smile, a joke or a hug, Jeremiah will be forever cherished in the hearts of anyone that knew him.
