Obituary

Jermaine Demetrius Strayhorne, 44, of N. Chesterfield, VA was called home on Friday, October 21, 2022. Jermaine was born in Richmond, VA, grew up in Chesterfield County, and graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1997. Jermaine was best known for his laid back, funny personality and was loved by everyone he encountered. He was kind, compassionate, loving, dependable, and always made everyone laugh. Every morning when he went to work, he would send an “I love you and hope you have a great day” text to his life partner of 13 years Nicole and he checked in with his family and friends frequently. Jermaine really enjoyed spending time and making memories with his loved ones. In his free time, he also liked to hang out in his “mancave” with his dog Trinity and play his PlayStation. Jermaine loved music of all genres and would DJ at the family events. He was always tinkering with stereo equipment in the house or in his car or helping someone else install theirs. He was a huge Miami Dolphins football fan, frequently wearing Dolphins gear, watching all of the games, and collecting memorabilia. Jermaine and Nicole loved to travel together and one of his favorite things to do while on vacation was going to a casino to play the slot machines. He will be sorely missed but with us forever in our memories and hearts.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Spencer Strayhorne, Sr. and Joanne Elizabeth Strayhorne. Jermaine is survived by the love of his life, Nicole Marie Milhado; siblings, Harold Spencer Strayhorne, Jr. and his wife Monica, and Cherlonda Strayhorne Brown; nieces, Ashley, Marlondria, and Chermari Strayhorne; great-nieces Camille Thompson and Markaria Strayhorne; and great-nephew, Markese Strayhorne. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, November 4 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service. Jermaine’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 5 at the Morrissett Chapel.
