Obituary

Jimmy Earl Brown, 81, of Chester, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Devoted husband, wonderful father, loving son, and proud PawPaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Gaynelle Brown; son, Paul Brown; and siblings, Sharon Marr, Steve Brown, and Donnie Brown. Jimmy is survived by his wife Teresa Brown, daughters, Stefanie Munksgard (Jim) and Amanda Adams (Jason); son, Tony; grandchildren, Kristen Jenkins (Kristine), Amanda Brown, Kylie Munksgard, Julia Adams, and James Adams; great-grandchildren, Summer Harwood, Myleigh Harwood, and Huntley Bostic. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jimmy was a proud Sergeant in the US Marine Corps and after his service to his country he became a Chesterfield County Police Officer and retired as a Training Officer in 1997. He loved fishing, boating, riding jet skis, and being on the water.

Friend to many. Mentor to more. Hero to all.

Jimmy’s memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 11 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Richmond SPCA https://richmondspca.org/how-you-can-help/donate/.

  5. Jim and I worked together during our early careers in the department. It wasn’t much we wouldn’t do. Jim saved me more times than I can count. I’ll never forget the crazy things that happened to us while working together. Jim didn’t back down from anything and was always ready to do whatever it took to get the job done. He was the perfect partner. I will miss him a lot, but will never forget our time as partners and the crazy things we did together. He was such a special person in so many ways. I’ll mark you out of service buddy,on Sept. 11th, 12 noon.
