Obituary
Joan Marie Stank of Richmond, Virginia, 64, a woman whose presence touched our lives in ways words can barely capture passed away peacefully January 23,2026 surround by family. She was welcomed into heaven not only by our Heavenly father but the open arms of her mother, Theresa V. Stank Livingston, and her father, Joseph W. Livingston Jr. Joan came from a large, loving family: Linda A. Chaney, Joseph W. Livingston (Laura), Thomas E. Livingston, William P. Livingston (Robin), John M. Livingston (Michele), Robert F. Livingston (Katherine), and Samantha E. Livingston. She also had a significant number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews – each one held tightly in her heart.
For over sixteen years, Joan lived at The Virginia Home, where the staff and fellow residents surrounded her with care and became her extended family. Among those who cherished her was her special friend, Raymond Vaughhan. Joan Marie was the life of the party, the spark in the quiet moments, the light that could brighten even the darkest room. Fly high our sweet, sweet angel Joan Marie, your feet now light, your steps unbound, your spirit running free to Gods embrace.
Joan’s Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 5 at The Virginia Home, 1101 Hampton St. Richmond, VA 23220. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Virginia Home.
