Obituary
Joan Nichols D’Epiro passed away on December 12, 2022. She was born June 27, 1933 to Warren Allen Nichols and Mary Louise Lookabaugh in West Virginia. She was a long-term resident of Fairfax, VA. Joan married the love of her life, Albert Lincoln D’Epiro, in Cumberland, MD on October 3, 1959 and were together until his passing in 2015.
Joan loved music, sewing, cooking, singing, and dancing. She was a hostess for the Department of Interior for many years before becoming a full-time mom. She was also President of the Munich American Women’s Club and she was the first two-time President of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Arlington Fairfax Elks Lodge #2188.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al; and her brother, John. Left to cherish her memory include her sister, Elaine Montgomery (George); children, Robert (Peggy) and Thomas (Maryann); grandchildren, Amber Mosby (Jermaine), Anna D’Epiro, and Joseph D’Epiro; great-grandson, Maverick Mosby; and beloved nephew, Todd Montgomery.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 19th from 6pm-8pm at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, N. Chesterfield. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 20th, at 1pm in the Morrissett chapel with burial to follow at Dale Memorial Park.
