Obituary

John Edward White, Sr., 86, of Burkeville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023. He was a 32^nd Degree Free Mason with Lodge #147 in Nottoway, Virginia. John was the president and owner of Moore Scale Service Inc, retiring in 2000 to dedicate the rest of his life owning/operating a successful cattle farm, Rocky Hill Farms in Nottoway VA. John was preceded in death by Louise H. White, his devoted wife of nearly 68 years who was always his angel; mother, Mary Troxler; son, John E. White, Jr., and daughter, Bonnie Hurlburt. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Najdyszak (George); son, Raymond White (Judy); grandchildren, Rita Inge (Gordon), Carl Najdyszak (Amanda), Joseph Hurlburt, Brian Hurlburt, Ashley White, Raymond White, Lesley Cathey, and Melissa Vogler (Isaac); brother, Frank White, Jr. (Barbara). John is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to thank Hospice of Virginia and their Executive Director of the Central Region, Julie Mills RN. Also, the family would like to thank Kara Foster-Weiss MD, John’s devoted physician and family friend. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. John’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 28 at the Morrissett Chapel. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
