Obituary

John Henderson, 89, of North Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was born on February 12, 1935 in Damascus, Virginia to the late Daily and Ora Francis Henderson. John is also preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Price and Mayme Henderson Jones; two brothers, Jim Henderson and Robert Henderson; great granddaughter, Morgan Ware; and his devoted pets, Trouble and Little Joe.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Linda Loretta Henderson; son, Rocky John Henderson (Janice); daughter, Malinda Bowers (Robert); granddaughters, Jane King, Candice Fens, Krystal Ware, and Lachelle Henderson; great grandchildren, Nichole Ware, Lauren Ware, Ava Fens, Chloe Fens, and Emma Fens; numerous nieces and nephews.

During John’s free time he enjoyed working in his summer garden, bird watching, and spending time with his family. John retired from Chesterfield County Department of Utilities after 35 plus years of service. He honorably served in the United States Army. John will greatly be missed by all who knew him especially his family.

In lieu of services, the family suggests that you remember John the way he was throughout his life and at the past family reunions as these were his wishes.
