Obituary

John Nelson Copeland, 73, originally from Baltimore, Maryland but most recently from Richmond, Virginia, passed on November 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson P. Copeland, Marjorie Landaeta and his brothers, Ray Bain and Mark Landaeta.

John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his nation in his youth. John’s passions were planes, cars and most of all Harley Davidsons. In fact, while living out west for a time he attended the Sturgis gathering several times.

John is survived by his sister Katherine Scheller and her husband Ronald. Also, by his niece Melonie Clark, her husband Jonathan, their sons, Jesse Sawyer and grandson Cooper Clark, nephew Ray Bain and daughter Lillie, nephew David Alloway, his wife Toshia and their children Astera Alloway, Evan and Chase Brown. John is also survived by many other relatives who live in North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2022 which will start at 12p.m. One hour prior to the service there will be an hour visitation at Morrissett Funeral Home located at 6500 Iron Bridge Road North Chesterfield, VA 23234. Interment will follow the service at the Virginia State Cemetery in Amelia at 2 p.m.
