Obituary
John S. Sam Thomas, Sr., 93, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Ann Thomas, and his son, John S. Thomas, Jr. He is survived by his grandchildren, Anthony C. Hutter, Lisa A. Zabaglo, and Christina H. Balleweg; his sister, Ethel Houser; his brother, Henry Grant; special friend, Marilyn Pittman; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10), with his funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. Interment in Branch’s Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Branch’s Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3400 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, VA 23234.
