Obituary
Johnie Gore Sr., 86, of Midlothian, VA went to be with the Lord and his family that have gone before him on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
He was born on July 27, 1937 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Albert F. and Dicie Gore. Johnie is preceded in death by his sons, Johnie Gore, Jr. and Lewis F. Gore; sisters, Arleda Adams, Dovie Hall, Amy Kennedy, and Minnie Trella; and brothers, Frank Gore, Bill Gore, Albert Gore, Arnold Gore, and Orville Gore.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy M. Gore; daughter, Elizabeth Mays; son, Gregory S. Gore (Raissa); grandsons, John W. Mays, Johnie Gore, III (Krystle), and Wayne White; granddaughters, Sarah E. Mays, Rose Bryan, and Kayla Good; great-granddaughters, Alice I. Limley and Madilynn Gore; and great-grandson, Logan T. Gore.
Johnie was an avid hunter and had a lifelong love for music. He was a proud paratrooper with the Airborne division of the United States Army.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. Johnie’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 7777 Cogbill Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
