Obituary

Woodlief, Johnny G., 57, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Bridget R. Soyars and her husband, Ted; son, John Chipper Woodlief and his wife, Angie; and the light of his life, his grandsons, Austin and Tyler; his mother, Margaret Oney; sisters, Jean Sullivan, Dale Tutton, and Linda Davis; brothers, Roy, Donald, and Richard Woodlief, and Larry Oney; grandsons, Austin and Tyler Woodlief. Johnny was a retired machine shop teacher from Hermitage Technical Center in Henrico County, an avid golfer, and loved his dogs Kaya and BJ. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday (today) at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 am Monday at Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Rd. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place, Glen Allen, VA 23060, or the Richmond SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Rd., Richmond, VA 23220.

    Our deepest sympathy to all of you. So sad to see you lose a loved way too early in his life.

    My husband and I enjoyed may good memories with John on the golf course and had many good times with him. John, you will be missed by many especially your old Bermuda golf course buddies.

    I’m so sorry that I never saw this post and respond to you. Thank you so much for your post. As we are approaching the 6th year anniversary of Daddy’s passing, it still seems so hard to believe that he has gone. We all miss him so much.
    Dad really loved playing golf with you guys down at Bermuda. He spoke of everyone so often. So many wonderful stories! 🙂
    Thank you again for your friendship to Daddy. May God keep and protect you and yours always.
