Obituary

Jose Alberto Jaco, 72, of Hopewell, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born on September 13, 1952 in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Emma Carballo de Jaco and the late Jeronimo Alfonso Jaco. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Cleotilde Jaco.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Amalia Menendez de Jaco; sons, Albert Jose Jaco (Mary), Henry Alfonso Jaco (Meghan), Ronald Alexis Menendez (Roxana), Jose Rigoberto Menendez (Patricia); grandchildren, Daniela Guzman, Jeffrey Guzman, Mariana Guzman, Lesley Menendez, Dominic “Coco” Menendez, Jade Menendez, D’Alessandro Menendez, Camila Menendez, and Leandro Menendez; mother, Emma Carballo; sisters, Dora Pacheco, Ana Maria Menendez, Maria Jaco, Maria de Carmen Cantarero, Rosa Alba Reyes; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great grandchildren.

His passion was decorating for Christmas and building his nativity every December. He was a connoisseur of eating all things sweets related. He was huge fan of soccer, cheering on his favorite soccer teams, Athletico Madrid and Barcelona. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. His smile and laugh would cheer the room when he entered. He will always be remembered for his kindness and heart of gold.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. A procession line up will begin Monday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a graveside to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831.
