Obituary

Bellamy, Joseph “Joe” R., 86, of Chesterfield, died peacefully at Brandermill Woods Health Care Center Tuesday, May 3, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Leneave Bellamy; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” and Glenn Trimmer, and Kay and Scott Whitney; grandchildren, Joseph Rosser “Ross” Trimmer, Meghan Elizabeth Whitney, and Emily Page Whitney. Joe served as a Virginia State Game Warden, and retired as a Captain of Law Enforcement after 36 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, baseball player, and fan. He was a faithful member of Branch’s Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus, Sunday School teacher, and greeter who always had candy and a smile. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Branch’s Baptist Church. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Branch’s Baptist Church Food Pantry at 3400 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23234 or Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Parkway, Richmond, VA 23227.

  2. Mr. Bellamy was such a wonderful person. He and Cecil shared a lot of good times together. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
