Obituary

Butler, Jr., Joseph Dewitt, 70, of Bracey, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Patricia Butler; son, Jeff Butler and his wife, Mystre; daughter, Jan Butler Malcolm, and her husband, Scott; step-children, James Farrar, Robert “Bobby” Farrar, Sr., and his wife, Lou Ann, and Judy Meadows, and her husband, Richard; aunt, Phyllis Dunlevy, and her husband, Junie; grandchildren, Christopher Butler and Brandon Booth; step-grandchildren, Jason Farrar, and Robert “Bobby” Farrar, Jr., Leslie and Ethan Meadows. Mr. Butler was an avid musician who played the saxophone and had a band, Joey D and the Starlights. He was active in coaching Little League baseball in Tuckahoe and Powhatan. During his earlier years, he also worked the pit crew for NASCAR owner, and uncle, Junie Dunlevy. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm on Thursday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
