Obituary

Joseph Herley “Joe” Nunnally, Jr. passed away September 26, 2023. He was born February 26, 1944 to Joseph Herley Nunnally, Sr. and Martha Sandlin Nunnally in Virginia.

Joe was a hard worker, loved working on cars and woodworking, and loved listening to Elvis Presley and country music. He was also a fan of flea markets. He was friendly, liked by everyone, and was a well-respected retired Captain for the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office for a total of 42 years. In his spare time, he liked to ride his motorcycle, tinker around the yard, and play Solitaire on the computer. He was also a member of Salem Baptist Church in N. Chesterfield.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Alexandra Nunnally; his parents, Joseph Nunnally, Sr. and Martha Sandlin Nunnally; and his brother, Gerald Nunnally.

Left to cherish his memory include his children, Jody Nunnally, Josh Nunnally, Kara Kelly (Jason), and Rouven Pilley; grandchildren, Kyla Cook, Kelsea Nunnally, Charlotte Kelly; 2 great-grandchildren; and sister, Judy Peace.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 from 6pm-8pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 1pm at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
