Obituary

Joyce Mann, 84, of Chesterfield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Nichols; father, Eldred Nichols; sister, Leah Nichols. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of over 65 years, Ronald “Ronnie” Mann; three sons, Bruce Mann (Kathy), Steve Mann, Ricky Mann; 8 grandkids and 2 great grandkids. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Richmond SPCA or Beulah United Methodist Church. 

Joyce was born in Asheville, NC and moved to Richmond as a young girl. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, she met her husband and got married in 1957. She then devoted her time raising her three sons until they were grown and then moved on to work at Toys That Teach at Stony Point Shopping Center where she worked for numerous years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, birdwatching, feeding birds, and vacationing in the Outer Banks. For many years she was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club. Joyce was a true dog lover and had multiple dogs throughout her lifetime. She loved to share stories about her dogs to anyone and everyone she met. She truly never met a stranger.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother but also a devoted friend to many.  The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. She will be greatly missed.
