Obituary

Juanita Crostic Poulston, 88 of Chesterfield died on Saturday, April 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1936, to Hunter and Viola Crostic. She married Horace Poulston, Sr. in 1954, the two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with 3 children, Kay, Petie, and Wendy. Juanita would start every day by reading the Bible for an hour. Her appetite for reading extended to historical and fictional novels. She also enjoyed playing solitaire and watching old black and white movies. Juanita loved her family fiercely and always enjoyed celebrating holidays, birthdays and special events.

Juanita is preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Fender; son, Petie Poulston; brother, Charles, Jr., and sisters, Patricia and Sylvia. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Horace Poulston, Sr.; daughter, Wendy Booker; sisters, Carol Hyatt, Sandy Wyatt, and Diane King (Sonny); grandchildren, Sara (Jerry), Kristy (William), John (Stacie), Mark, Jesse, Jamie, Damon (Kaley), and Blake (Paige); great-grandchildren, Isaaik, Brenden, Camden, Liam, Lillyana, Austin, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Mason, Aria, Samantha, Payton, and Madison ; great-great granddaughter, Harleigh, and Kamila; daughter-in-law, Linda Poulston; and numerous other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with a gathering to follow on Saturday, April 27 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Falling Creek Baptist Church, 4701 Turner Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234.
