Obituary

June Peay Bookman, 90, of Richmond, VA, passed away June 25, 2022. She was born July 4, 1931 in Danville, VA to Carl and Ruby Peay. She attended nursing school at Stuart Circle Hospital, where she met the love of her life, Buck Bookman.

June loved being on the water, horse racing, the 4^th of July, and fireworks. She also loved planting her roses and picking crabs. Most of all, she loved her family and was the matriarch to the Bookman crew.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. “Buck” Bookman, Sr; her parents, Carl and Ruby; her daughter, Deborah K. Bookman; and son, Mark L. Bookman. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Chuck Bookman (Tracy), Janet Bookman, and Gail Conner (Steve); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00pm Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Providence United Methodist Church, 901 S Providence Rd, Richmond, VA 23236 with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Guillian-Barre Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
