Obituary
Kathleen Watkins Mallory died June 12, 2023 a few days shy of her 82nd birthday. She battled dementia but thankfully didn’t suffer long.
Kathleen was born June 21, 1941, to Charlotte and Linwood Watkins, a kind heart, when the world was at war. Kathleen was educated in Chesterfield County Virginia, graduating from Manchester High School in 1959. She enlisted for a short tour in the Air Force in 1962 proudly serving her country. After her enlistment, she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
She married Marshall Fleming Mallory on October 20, 1967. They were married for 55 years. Kathleen was a dedicated Mother and wife, raising three children, guiding them with her wisdom and love.
While her dream of becoming a country and western musician never came to fruition, she lived with a zest in life that touched everyone she met. She was very outgoing and enjoyed a great conversation even when the views weren’t always shared.
Her passions in life besides her family, were her work with her church, her love of games and crossword puzzles and her desire to travel, which she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Marshall, her daughter Elizabeth Melancon, her sons CPO Marshall Mallory and William Mallory, five grandchildren and one great grandchild plus many family and friends who loved her dearly.
There was a private funeral for the family on June 16. A Celebration of Life will be forthcoming soon. If you would like to attend, please contact the family.
