Obituary

LAWRENCE, Katrina Marie, “Katie/Kat”, age 39, of Midlothian, VA., passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. She is predeceased by her grandfather, Charles M. Roszel; her mother, Rhonda K. Dean; and her grandmother, Margaret F. Roszel. She is survived by her children, Benjamin, and Hannah Rush; stepfather, Gary Dean; siblings, Vicki Matos (Rui), Stephen Dean, Faith Preminger (Benji), Jessica Carlton (Shawn), and Amanda Maughan (Alex) and many other wonderful people whose paths crossed hers along the way.

Katrina”™s life was full of roads less traveled, untold adventures, and the desire to love and be loved in return. Katrina came into this world a fighter and although she left prematurely, her death does not define her legacy. She will be remembered as someone larger than life who never shied from speaking up for herself. Her resilience and ability to adapt, despite impossible circumstance, was unmatched.

Katrina”™s remains will be laid to rest next to her mother in Stapleton, AL. In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions in Katrina”™s name be sent to www.rainn.org, an organization devoted to bringing awareness to sexual trauma and abuse, and support for survivors.

  1. Dear Katrina,
It is with great sadness we feel the loss of you especially one who is so young. Your life was one of searching for love and acceptance and for this you put up a great fight. It is with regret that we did not tell you how much you were loved. You touched so many lives during your life and for this we are grateful. With prayer we hope that you find the love and warmth in the embrace of God’s arms and may you forever be in peace.

    Love Debbie, Shri and Eric

You 3 ladies go and make up for lost times!

  3. You were the song to my so many years. I cannot believe I’m just finding this out as I’ve been messaging you for quite some time. Your favorite picture standing in front the lake with cliff in the back is one I’ll never forget taking and everytime I see it I just can’t help but hope you’re in a better place and one day we’ll see each other again
