Obituary

Kelsey Dawn Parrish, 33, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, August 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, biological parents, and her father, Arnold A. Horner. 

Kelsey is survived by her children, David Golding and Madelynn Williams; mother, Evelyn W. Horner; and a special cousin, Richard Lane.

Kelsey was an avid reader who found great joy in getting lost in a good book. She loved working on large puzzles, a passion she shared with her parents, Arnold and Evelyn, and one that brought them closer together. Kelsey enjoyed simple pleasures like taking her children to the park and joining in on craft activities at local hardware stores. Her generous, servant-hearted spirit led her on mission trips to Croatia, Romania, and Honduras, where she gave her time and love to those in need. At home, she was always willing to help—driving others to the grocery store, doctor’s appointments, or running everyday errands with kindness and care. Kelsey adored animals, especially her beloved dog, Freya, and her recently adopted kitten, Stormy. She and her daughter Madelynn shared a special bond through building flower-themed LEGO sets, a hobby filled with color and creativity. After the passing of her father, Kelsey became her mother’s closest companion—shopping together, sharing laughter, and building a friendship that brought them both comfort and joy. She will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.

Her celebration of life officiated by Dr. Reverend Roger Collier, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235. A reception and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to BABC Youth Ministries.
