Obituary
Kevin Maurice DeFord, 55, of Chester went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Zakary R. Metzner; maternal grandparents, Charles and Twila Hutson; paternal grandmother, Naomi DeFord and father-in-law, Wayne Vaught. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Melissa DeFord; daughter, Brittany DeFord; son, Justin DeFord (Kayla); parents, Janet and Maurice DeFord; sisters, Myrna DeFord and Melissa Clark (John); grandchildren, Kayden, Luke, Kierra, Karter and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Kevin is a U.S. Navy submariner veteran who proudly served on the USS Jacksonville. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and beloved son. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. Kevin”s funeral ceremony will be on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Transformation Church, 6000 Iron Bridge Rd, N. Chesterfield, VA, 23234. Burial and military honors will follow in Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia at 2:00 p.m.

So very sorry for your loss. prayers for all his family. Talked to him almost every day at the Center before I got sick. he was a funny, wonderful guy, we are honored to have known him and his family.
