Dear Jesse and Daniel, We are sending you both our deepest sympathies on the loss of your Dad. We loved Larry and we have so many sweet memories of being together when you came to Florida. Larry always played for us and we all loved hearing him play. Once while playing in Lake Butler everyone was singing and tapping their feet. Larry played song after song and smiling the whole time. May God bless you both and know we are sending you both our love and prayers. Maidena and Pat Lesnett

To the family of Larry Wiley. You don’t know me, but I certainly knew Larry. As a fellow fiddler I have gotten to know Larry very well over the years through the various jams in the area and a couple of festivals the both of us have attended. I also had the great pleasure of playing with him a couple times as part of a small group for special occasions. It seems every time I played with Larry I learned something new, whether a new tune or a phrase to an old tune. God has blessed me with a handful of tunes that I learned specifically from Larry which I plan on continuing to play. May God bless you all with comfort and peace in this sad and difficult time.

Larry and his entourage played at our wedding at the Dellwood Plantation in 2003, I knew nothing of old-time music. Fast forward about 14 years, I picked up the banjo as a self study and a couple of years hence, played with Larry and others at the Rockwood jam. Larry and I also played with the Parking Lot Pickers Band and he was a regular at the Chesterfield Old-Time Jammers Club. I will miss his gentle demeanor and his expansive knowledge of old-time fiddle tunes. He was truly a gentleman. (Mark Thell)
