Obituary

Lauretta F. Hassell, 75, of N. Chesterfield, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years Caleb S. Hassell, Sr.; mother of Juanita H. Faithful and Caleb S. Hassell, Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren Daniele Davis, Toni Klee, Jonathan Jefferson, Sterling Hassell, Crystal Hassell, and Kristyn Faithful. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and sisters Ester Morrow and Ann Morris. A devoted and loving wife, mama, and nana. A woman who loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind. Someone who lived her life with great faith during the best and worst of times. A joyful giver of, not only her time, but of her many talents. An amazing encourager and friend, always willing to lend a listening ear. She was always ready and willing to give you her best advice, even if it wasn’t something you wanted to hear. A stranger she had never met; if she met you, she loved you. A crafty and creative lover of all things sparkly, Christmas, and crafts. Everything was done out of love. She always wanted to make sure other people felt loved and accepted. She certainly lived out 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let everything you do be done in love.” She will be sincerely and abundantly missed by many. A visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Life Church, 16801 Harrowgate Rd. Colonial Heights, VA 23834. 1. My heart goes out to my dear friend Juanita and the entire family. Your mom was such a caring woman, when my grandson was born she made miracles happen so he would brought into a world of love and caring. She held my hand and let me cry and showed me hope. She holds a very special place in my heart she taught me that miracles do happen if you just pray enough for them. She was truly an amazing woman, she will be missed.

  2. Kathy Smith says:

To My Dear Cousin Caleb, and his children Juanita and CS and grandchildren:

My heart is so saddened by your loss. Lauretta was definitely one of a kind, the kind of person you only get to meet once in a life time if you are lucky. As a child being in this family I can always remember feeling absolutely nothing but shear joy when being told Caleb and Lauretta was paying a visit because you knew it would be nothing but happiness. From her incredible smile, to her infectious laugh and never anything but kind words there was no way you could feel anything but happiness. I am grateful for all the times I did get to spend time with her as a child and an adult. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. Just know my heart is with all of you and I will be keeping you all in my prayers.

  3. Cheryl Bundy says:
