Obituary

Tibbetts, Sr., Lawrence Edward, 75, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Meade Kientz Tibbetts; sons, Lawrence Tibbetts, Jr. and his wife Allison of Cary, NC, and Albert Tibbetts of Falls Church, VA; brother, William Tibbetts; granddaughter, Lauren Tibbetts. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles M. Tibbetts Sr. and Mariam McCormick Tibbetts; and a brother, Charles M. Tibbetts, Jr. Lawrence, Sr. was a native of Maine, where he leaves many family and friends. Mr. Tibbetts was an active member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of the US Navy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday (today) at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Southside Church of the Nazarene, 6851 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832 or the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.

  3. We are very saddened to have daddy gone but the Lord is very gracious and has provided a very special time for us as a family.
    We thank everyone for their kindness and love during this time.
