Lawrence Hawthorne, 68, of Chesterfield, Virginia, peacefully departed this life on October 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Lawrence was born in Greenville County, Virginia to the late Rosetta T. Hawthorne and John W. Hawthorne on January 30, 1953. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Rita Hawthorne.

A life-long resident of Richmond, Virginia, Lawrence attended Richmond Public Schools and retired from Phillip Morris USA. Known for his generosity and bright smile, Lawrence will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather – known as “Papa”, brother, uncle, and friend – known as “Hop” by his closest. Lawrence was also a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan and his love for fishing and ear for music could be counted amongst his many joys.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a beloved wife, Jennifer Hawthorne, three sons Lawrence Hawthorne, Jr., Andre Jones and wife Tshika, and Domonic Jones and wife Amanda, three daughters Sarita Hawthorne, Belicia Hester, and Mia Hawthorne, two sisters Vera Moore and Lillian Hawthorne, ten grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, and a host of cousins and close friends.
