Obituary

Linda J. Johnson, 73, of N. Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Johnson, and father, Clyde Jennings. Linda is survived by her son, Earnie Taylor, III; mother, Sarah Jennings; grandchildren, Christa Patterson and Gary Taylor; great-grandchildren, Liam Patterson and Sonya Taylor; siblings, Jerry Jennings (Linda), Christine King, Mark Jennings (Debi), and Ruth Howk (Kenny); nephews, Bryan, Jay, Mathew, Mark, Derrick, Daniel; nieces, Wendy, Jess, Jenifer, Tiffany, and Maria. Linda is also survived by grand nephews, Logan, Jacob, Charlie, Luke, Daniel, Preston; grand nieces, Lyric, Lindsey, Briana, Haley, Trinity, Emily, Sarah, and Abbey; and devoted friends Jo Andre, Maura Cherry, and Chris Bishop. Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed her career working for the Chesterfield County Libraries. She was a compassionate contributor to the Backpacks for the Homeless RVA and a longtime volunteer for “CARITAS”. In addition to her volunteer work, Linda was a devoted member of Kingsland Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Linda’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 15 at Kingsland Baptist Church, 8801 Perrymont Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23237. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  Online condolences at www.morrissett.com

  2. To the family, you have my condolences. Linda was a very sweet person. When I went to Thomas Dale she was one person who welcomed me there with a smile.. She was very nice and always had something nice to say.
    I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Reading the obituary, Linda did exactly what I would have thought she would be doing, giving. She had a HEART of love for b people.
