Obituary

Byers, Loran Dean, 77, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara E. Byers; sons, Loran Byers and his wife Melanie, and Raymond Byers and his wife Rose; daughter, Barbara Petrohovich and her husband Stan; brothers, James Byers and his wife Bev, Laverl Byers and his wife Dolores, and Exel Byers and his wife Betty; grandchildren, Dean Allen, Robin, Charlie, Amber, Joseph, and Amy; great-grandchildren, Kristina, Chip, and Stevie. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Minnie Byers. Mr. Byers retired from the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be Wednesday (today) from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Road, Richmond, VA 23234.

    I am sorry to hear about your your father. I met him when we use to bowl. He was a good bowler and was very nice man. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time.
