Obituary

Margaret P. Phelps passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early hours of the cold, clear February 6 morning.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Charles F. Phelps, Jr., who was the love of her life.

She is survived by her four children: Leslie P. DeBruyn (Michael A.), Charles F. Phelps, III (Gayle Z.), Susan V. Freund (Bruce A.) and Vanessa P. Peete (W. Gregory); eight grandchildren: William C. Hamilton, III (M. Adriana Melchor-Valle), Kathryn P. Mejia (Edward), Gillian D. Kroll (Aaron G.), C. Benjamin Phelps (friend, Abby Dooley), Jordan M. DeBruyn, W. A. Boyd Peete, Charlotte C. M. Peete and Mark A. Stone (Erin); and five great-grandchildren: J. Nicolas Michalik, Natalie E. Michalik, A. Jazz Stone, Magnolia A. Stone and Colton A. Kroll.

She was a wonderful and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed, but we are assured of being together again in God”™s kingdom.

A private service and burial will be held in Chesapeake, VA. A Celebration of Life will be held locally at a later date.
