Obituary

Porter, Marion Bradley, 96, of Chesterfield, died March 30, 2009. She was the widow of Raymond Warren Porter and is survived by three nieces, Carol Bradley Baltimore and her husband Bob, Brenda Bradley Jones and her husband Peppy, and Virginia Anne Stine; a nephew, James Piercy and his wife Cheryl; and long-time faithful friends Betty and Joe Bellamy. Mrs. Porter taught for 41 years in Powhatan, Chesterfield, and Richmond public schools until her retirement in 1969. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), with her funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Powhatan, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Fine Creek Baptist Church, 3619 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan, VA 23139, Brandermill Woods Foundation, 2100 Brandermill Parkway, Midlothian, VA 23112, or the charity of your choice.

    Marion was a member of my chapter of ADK honorary teachers’ sorority. I am sure that she will be missed especially by her family.
