Obituary

Mary Emma Browning, 85, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” W. Browning, Sr., parents Luther and Lula Olinger Brown; sisters and brothers, Hazel Gibson, Carl Brown, Charles Brown, Jack Brown, Opal Rader, and Franklin Brown. She is survived by her oldest son, Halsey “Buddy” W. Browning II and his wife Katherine “Kay” and their children; Katrina Alexandra “Alexis” Bishop, and her husband Steve, Lauren Cambridge Browning; and Buddy’s children; Lisa M. Clark, her husband Mike, and Mikhail Yurii Browning. She’s also survived by her youngest son, William “Bill” W. Browning, Jr., and his children; Tamara Anulies and her husband Tony, Ryan Browning and his wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Loren Browning, Madison and Jordan Clark, Alek Anulies, and Owen Bishop; sister-in-law, Edith Hartsock of Las Cruces, NM; beloved friends, Jo Browning and Teri Browning as well as numerous other family and friends. Mary was a member of Ramsey United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). The funeral service will be held 11 am Monday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Ramsey United Methodist Church, 5900 Hull St. Rd., Richmond, VA 23224.

  1. I remember the Brownings visiting my grandparents (Richard and Mary Browning of Abingdon, VA) when I was a little girl. I thought they were so nice and kind.
    My mother, Pearl Browning Wimmer) told me of Mrs. Browning’s death and I wanted to send my deepest sympathy to the family during this time.
