Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Eubank Glass, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on December 10, 2024 at the age of 90. Born on June 29, 1934 in Essex, Virginia, Mary was the cherished daughter of William Carroll Prince and Loula Ellen Greenstreet. She lived a life marked by love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her brother William Prince; and her sisters Gertrude Longest, Ruth Overstreet, and Ellen Reed. She also mourned the loss of her brother John Samuel Prince and her daughter Ann Corbin, who left a profound void in her heart. Despite these losses, Mary’s spirit remained vibrant and caring, touching the lives of many.
In a beautiful union of love and companionship, Mary married Theodore F. Glass on July 16, 1971. Their partnership was a testament to the power of love as they navigated life together, creating lasting memories and a loving home. Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Ted; her son, William “Billy” Eubank; and her cherished granddaughter, Cheyann Eubank. She was also a proud grandmother to Seth (Julie) Corbin and Jacob Corbin, who brought immense joy and pride into her life. Additionally, Mary is remembered fondly by her son-in-law, Richard Corbin; her special nephew, Jamie Longest; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind a circle of friends, including her dear and beloved friend Jo Horner, who will miss her dearly.
Mary took great pride in her education, having graduated from Bruington High School, a milestone she celebrated throughout her life. Her career as a payroll clerk at Carisbrook spanned three decades, from 1962 until her retirement in 1992. Upon retirement, she found joy in watching her grandchildren, a role she cherished with all her heart, embracing every moment spent with them.
Known for her honest, caring, and loving nature, Mary was full of energy and enthusiasm. Her interests included cleaning and gardening, activities that brought her joy and allowed her to express her nurturing spirit. She relished every opportunity to create beautiful memories with her grandchildren, playing an integral role in their lives.
Mary’s life will be celebrated at Branch’s Baptist Church, located at 3400 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, VA 23234, on December 19, 2024 during a viewing from 6 PM to 8 PM and on December 20, 2024 from 11 AM to 12 PM, the funeral directly following at 12 PM. Sweet Grandma Glass.. our hearts are broken because you are no longer on this earth, but we will rejoice in the fact that we will see you in Heaven someday. We are going to miss you so much and mom especially will miss you…she said to take care of daddy until she gets there. Every night we will look to the stars and remember all the good times we have shared. We love you.
