Obituary

Mary P. Philpott, 88, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Pannell and brother, Robert Pannell. Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Donald R. Philpott; daughters, Kathryn Argyropoulos (Paul) and Lisa Ezzo (Chris); grandchildren, Alexander Argyropoulos (Karla), Macie Houck, Olivia Houck, and Alyssa Argyropoulos; great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Argyropoulos; siblings, Juanita Pannell, Barbara Keppe, Debra Bolen, George Pannell (Mary Ann), Don Pannell (Connie), and Michael Pannell (Pam); and sister-in-law, Linda Pannell. Mary was a lifelong member of Kingsland Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. Her love for books led her to develop and expand the library ministry at Kingsland. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, baking her amazing brownies, and playing boardgames. Mary also loved photography and listening to gospel music.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am with Mary’s funeral service starting at 11:00 am on Monday, May 20 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. A private burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV. In honor of Mary P.
