Maxine Bowman Leslie, 80, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marion “Soney” Leslie, and parents, Virgil and Helen Bowman.

Maxine worked for JA Jones construction company and was the executive secretary while they built the Richmond Coliseum. She worked for multiple years with Chesterfield Couty Fair Association as a department head coordinating the Canned Goods entries and awards. For twelve years, she participated along with Betty, her daughter Lynette and granddaughter Helena in collecting and delivery of toys to the Southwest Toy Drive in Lebanon, Virginia. Maxine was a lifelong member at Hopewell Methodist Church. Maxine is survived by her loving daughter, Lynette Eanes (Stephen) and son, Michael Leslie (Jennifer); her adoring granddaughter Helena Eanes, Ryan, MaKenzie, and Faithlyn Leslie; sister, Patricia Bowman; cherished cousins, Robbie Wheat and Shawn Prevette, and dear friends Betty Cockerham and Ronald Wimer. 1. Dear Maxine
It has been a pleasure to know, love you, and have you apart of my life cousin! We have both been thru so much and shared so many things together! At least now I know you are no longer suffering, and are home having a party with Sonny and our Lord, Jesus!
Both of us have spent hours upon hours on the phone talking into the night sharing our lives together. We have traveled, been on vacations, and sat in many hospitals by each others sides over the years while we have both been sick and down at our worst. I will cherish and try to remember everything I can of those moments. There are Lots of great memories! Lots of card nights, vacations at the beach, weekends in the mountains doing the Maple Festival are just a few of those great memories. I Love, will Miss You, and will keep the family (Lynette, Michael, Pat, and kids), in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. I will Pray that everyone knows and keeps in mind just how lucky you are to be in a much better place than we are now. You are Reunited with our Father and our other family members you haven’t seen in a while.
    You are no longer suffering!!!!
I just wait for the day we all get to reunite again in Heaven where we will have the best party imaginable!!! Soon, Very Soon! You will be forever missed!!!

    Love, Shawn Prevette

Lynette, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mom was an amazing woman and she raised an amazing daughter. Your mom is now at peace. The loss you feel is indicative of how much you loved her!

  5. Lynette and Helena,Maxine will be greatly missed.I sure enjoyed doing her hair in Monterey. She was a good friend,a heart of gold.We had Maxine and Betty down for a meal and a friend of Davids was there too. Maxine and Loll were about the same age, they had a good conversation. One would tell a story then the other one would tell theirs,it was fun listening to them.At the end of the day Loll said he never met a woman that could talk faster than him ,but he met his match in Maxine It sure was fun.God be with you all at this hard time, she is in the Lords hands and we will see her again in Heaven. All Our Love David,Shirley and Josh Mallow
