Obituary

Melvin Harry Davis, Jr., 70, of North Dinwiddie, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Harry Davis, Sr. and Ruth Davis; his wife of 35 years, Marie Frances Davis; and six stepchildren. Melvin is survived by his sons, Melvin H. Davis III and his wife Tabitha, Elbert Leon Dennis, Jr., Michael Dennis, and Shawn Dennis; daughters, Kristy Wright and Tina Terrell and her husband Steve; brother, Danny Ray Davis; grandchildren, David, Christopher, Aaron, Kristen, Beth, and Katherine; one great granddaughter; and many friends Melvin graduated from Varina High School and followed in his fathers’ footsteps in home improvement. Melvin then went into the home improvement business with his stepson Michael, opening M&M Contracting. Later in life, Melvin worked in the oil industry and as a truck driver. After he retired, Melvin started his hobby of collecting, exploring local yard sales and flea markets. As that hobby continued to grow, Melvin opened his own booth at the Flea Market in Amelia. When he was not hunting for those hidden treasures; Melvin enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending church, and spending time with his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 8th at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, with a Memorial Gathering an hour before at 5:00 pm, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234.
