It was such a beautiful tribute today for a man who lived up to all the accolades.i worked with Mel at the Federal Reserve Bank for many years, and he lived up to all the kind words shared about his life. He cared about his team and everyone around him, and always talked about his kids. He was a constant source of encouragement to me. Till we meet again Mel … the best is yet to come!

Mel was always very kind a patient. He talked about his kids and how they were doing great things in almost every interaction we had, especially around the holidays! Sending positive thoughts and prayers to all who knew him, as he would have done himself.

Mel, I light this candle as a reminder of the impact you had on my life. Not only were you a colleague but over the years you became “advisor-friend”. I smile as I write those words because I can replay the conversations of advice ranging from electronics to assembling a piece of furniture. I am saddened that I didn’t have an opportunity to say one last “thank you” but do know that every piece of advice, every laugh, and every conversation is appreciated. Heaven is a lucky place right now to have you there bringing your light (and tools). Rest peacefully!
