Obituary

Michael Eugene Holt, born June 1, 1957 in Arlington, Virginia, passed away surrounded by his girls on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cancer, where he kept his positivity, humor and determination until the end. He had several titles in life, including Supervisor, Coach, Uncle, Neighbor, and Friend but he was always most proud of his Husband, Daddy, and Poppy titles. He greatly enjoyed his long career at The Washington Gas Light Company where “his guys” were family and the station a home.  He will be remembered every day by his life-long true love, Mary Beth Holt, his daughters, Claire Runkles and Emily Holt, his son-in-law, Korey Webb, and especially by his most treasured grandson, Jackson Michael Webb.

Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia overlooking the beautiful James River. A celebration of life will be held in the Fall of 2022, with further details to come. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to either of these charities in Michael’s name: The American Cancer Society or the YMCA of Greater Richmond.
