Obituary

Mildred “Millie” Lee Utley Riley, our beloved mother, grandmother, best friend and amazing woman gained her wings as angel on April 1, 2022, and will forever live in our hearts! Millie was born in 1935, the oldest child of Waylon Kirk Utley and Ellera Pearl King Utley. Millie became an orphan at the age of 10 and after a couple of years in a children’s home, was raised by her maternal aunt and uncle, Vera and James Goodwin. Along with her parents, aunt and uncle, Millie was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Mary Carmel, Floyd, Clyde and Lewis. Millie is survived by her daughter, Ann (John) Price; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Hanchey, Charlotte Baugher and Todd Morgan; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Savannah, Lucas and Logan; nephews, Clyde and Jason; nieces, Kelly and Susan; and many extended family members. Millie was the window of Rev. Henry E. Riley, Jr. and was the epitome of a minister’s wife. Millie quit working in 1970 and dedicated her life to being a wife and mother. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Abi Mustapha for taking such great care of Millie in her final months here on Earth. Millie’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the James River Hospice Foundation, 9100 Arboretum Parkway, Suite 290, Richmond, Virginia 23236

I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the service for Millie. She was with us at Centenary UMC for many years. She will always be part of our memory. Lynne & Erving Foote
