Obituary

Millard Howe Nagle, III, 73, passed away on July 16, 2021 at his home in Richmond, Virginia. Howe was born on September 30, 1947 in Alameda, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Howe Nagle, Jr. and Sara Jane Lundberg. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta Horgan Nagle; their three children and their spouses, LTC Barton K. Nagle (USMC) (Natalia), Amy Nagle Dobbins (Chris), Gregory H. Nagle (Tamara); grandchildren Olivia, Barrett, Sydney, Paige, Cordelia; sister Roberta Zilius; and much-loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and good friends.

Howe served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972 and maintained a deep love and respect for the Corps thereafter. After earning a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1972, he worked in banking in Richmond for 23 years before retiring and devoting more time to the music he loved. He was a gifted classical pianist, played a great guitar, and shared his talents with many friends and as the music director and organist at Central United Methodist Church for over 15 years. He especially loved spending time with his family, driving fast cars, diving in the Florida Keys, and fishing on his boat in the Chesapeake Bay.

Visitation is planned for Wednesday, July 21 from 6 to 8 pm at Morrissett Funeral Home (6500 Iron Bridge Road). A funeral service is planned for Thursday, July 22 at 10 am at Central United Methodist Church (1211 Porter Street), followed by a burial at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00.
