Obituary

Monica “Esther” Sours Barton, 74, of Chesterfield, VA. passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother “granny”.  She raised two children and proudly obtained degrees in business and computer programming, afterwards, starting her lengthy career with Phillip Morris USA.  She loved to garden, travel, entertain and spend time with her friends and family.

Monica is preceeded in death by her husband, Paul W. Barton and her parents, Charles G. Sours and Martha B. Sours.  She is survived by her children, John (Leigh) Hubbard, III; Mary (Mike) Barlow, Josh (Stacey) Barton, Melissa (Ashlea) Barton, grandchildren, Sarah Barlow, Alexis Barton, and Jaxon Barton; great-grandson Carson Rott; sisters, Martha Scearce, Carmen (David) Myers, Anne (Bobby) Evans; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. 

Her graveside service will be held Monday August 21, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby’s Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. A gathering for friends and family will be held at her residence following the service.
