Obituary

Norma Jane Scott, 91, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1932 in Detroit, MI to the late James Burke and Agnus Chapmen. Norma is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Andrew Scott; her son Glenn Andrew Scott; and her grandson, Alexander Justin Schoessel.

She is survived by her son, Robert Phillip Schoessel; her grandson, Glenn Andrew McCollum; granddaughter, Victoria Renee Balducci; nine great grandchildren, Brandon Robert McCollum, Nathanial Andrew McCollum, Zachery Scott McCollum, Tori Rose McCollum, Carli Michelle McCollum, Ivan Alexander McAdams, Curtis Samuel Balducci, Matthew Owen Balducci, and Tanner Provolov; sister, Bonnie Lee Wixom; and brother, Thomas Ray Chapmen.

There is only one Norma Jane. She was known for being kind, sweet, gentle, soft spoken, and to have such an innocent view on life. She was the family historian and proud of her Scottish heritage. Norma while in her younger years loved to play golf, work in her garden, play the piano, keep her sons looking good by sewing patches on her boys’ pants, and baking the world’s best homemade rhubarb pies. She was also known to be faithful to the church, and was a devote woman of the bible, prayer, and faith.

Norma will be greatly missed by so many families, and friends that had the privilege to know, and spend time with her. We love and miss you mom, but are glad that your struggles and pain are over!

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. Her Memorial service will be held 6:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Hope Point Church, 10500 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery at Ameilia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
