Obituary

McDowell, Olin Mac, his heavenly Father called him home on Friday, March 21, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Nappy and Anneti Snedaker McDowell, and a brother, Clyde McDowell. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Norris Taylor McDowell; daughters, Diane Glover and her husband, Tommy, Olinda Stafford-Allen and her husband, Jim Allen; granddaughter, Julie Stafford Gilliland, and her husband Brant; grandsons, Carl and Olin Glover, Daryle Stafford, Jr. and his wife, Kahealani of Eagle Mt., Utah; great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Timothy Glover, Makayla, Kamden, and Kamaile Stafford; brother, Lester V. McDowell, II. Mr. McDowell’s deep love for horses was formed in his early childhood. He and his horse, Scat Cat, were champions of pole bending, barrel racing, and keyhole. He also drove and owned harness ponies and horses on the tracks of the Eastern Shore. He was a proud WWII U.S. Navy veteran, retired foreman with Reynolds Metal, a member of Masonic Lodge #161, Royal Arch Masons #48, a part of the Old Manchester Gang, and a member of Faith Heritage Church of God. He attended auctioneering school in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Monday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), where his funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. His byword was “Let’s go!”
