Obituary
Otho Vernon “O.V.” Shumaker Jr., 71, of Goochland, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Otho Vernon Shumaker, Sr.; O.V. is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Peggy B. Shumaker; three sisters, Mildred Regula, Linda Shumaker (Verne), Donna Westmoreland (Greg); son, Christopher Shumaker (Melanie); daughter, Angela Shumaker; three grandsons, CJ Shumaker II (Candace), Jeffrey Shumaker, Mason Baron; granddaughter, Jamie Robert (Josh); three great grandkids and life-long friend Dave Lewis (Connie).
O.V. was an avid golfer and a long-time employee of Philip Morris and Dupont.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022, with his funeral service to follow at 3 pm at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road North Chesterfield, VA 23234.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, c/o Advancement Department 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911 (hopva.org/give).
