Obituary

Otis W. Fowler, Jr., 81, of Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was born on December 27, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Mary Louise and Otis W. Fowler, Sr. Otis is also preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 49 years, Carolyn Fowler; granddaughter, Kristyna Gordon; and sister, MaryAnn Drudge.

He is survived by his sons, Otis “Kip” W. Fowler, III (Debbie), Christopher A. Fowler (Shannon); and daughter, Shannon Coyne; granddaughters, Jordan Heisler and Madison Coyne; grandsons, Otis “Chase” Fowler IV and Joshua Fowler; and great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Kirby and Emerson Heisler.

Otis was a man full of faith, life, and happiness. He had many titles but the ones he cared about most were Christian, Husband, Father, and Grand Father. He cared about people and family. He was a devoted husband who cared for his loving bride until her passing. He loved his kids and Grandkids. He loved being outside, and he loved anything dealing with cars. He gave dedicated, loyal service to DuPont Spruance for over 35 years.

A graveside service will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832. A celebration of life is to follow after the interment at 1:30 pm at Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Rd, Richmond, VA 23234.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
