Obituary

Charlotte Pauline Fitzgerald Vencill, 88, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, December 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, John Rex Vencill, and her parents, Dewey and Mercede Fitzgerald of Lynchburg, and shall rest peacefully from this day forth. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ralph Vencill (Mary), of Chicago, IL; numerous cousins; loving extended family; loving caregiver, Lelia Toliver, and special friend, Teri Pruitt. We wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ron Clark and Denise Lynch of MCV for her excellent care. She retired from the former Dominion Bank, where she was a smiling and friendly presence for many years at their Cary Street location. Pauline had a magnetic and magical personality and was loved by all for her kind and compassionate manner shown to each and everyone who came her way. Her passion for family and friends always put a smile on everyone’s face and brightened their day. She touched the lives of many and her memory will be preserved by those who loved her dearly. She was a member of Manchester Chapter #53 OES and Fairview Christian Church, Lynchburg, VA. She was affiliated with the ACCA Temple Shrine and the State Police of Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10) with her funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Monday at Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to MCV Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, P.O. Box 980234, Richmond, VA 23298.
