Obituary

Porter, Peggy Hunter, 84, of N. Chesterfield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John Henry Porter; and parents, Robert B. and Irene Hunter; and five siblings. She is survived by her children, Renee (Frankie) Pearce, J. Scott (Kimberly) Porter, and Jennifer (Earnie) Armstrong; grandchildren, Trey, Brandon, Matthew, Austin, Jill, Justin, and Kelsey; great-grandson, Mason; and brother, Alfred ‘Happy’ Hunter. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rt. 10). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Centralia Presbyterian Church, 4625 Centralia Rd., Chester, VA 23831. Interment will follow in Centralia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Peggy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Cox Rd., Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or Centralia Presbyterian Church.
