Obituary
Phillip S. Moss, 90, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Midlothian, VA. He was born on April 25, 1935 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Allen W. Moss and Alda S. Moss. He is preceded in death by brother, Calvin E. Moss.
Phillip is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann Moss; daughter, Sandra Kay Moss; second daughter, Sherry Elaine McCall; sister, Jane Pigford (Mitch); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews; and many friends.
Phillip served proudly in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He retired from Franklin Federal Savings Bank after many years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, and faithful servant of the Lord. Phillip was an artist, craftsman, and an overall creative individual with many talents.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by his service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. A reception to follow at the funeral home until 1:30 p.m. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phillip’s name to Vessels of Mercy International – Larry’s Lunch, 12081 Gayton Road, Henrico, VA 23238 or The Celebration Center Church, 879 Research Road, Richmond, VA 23236.

Shirley and Sandra, what can I say. Phil was the best. Such a shining light and so creative and kind. He always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. So happy that I had a short visit with he and Shirley back in April. He will be missed. Such a good man. He had a good life and he is at peace now along with my Mom and Dad.

I’m so sorry to learn of Phillip Moss’s passing. He was such a wonderful, funny, and kind person. He painted a Noah’s Ark canvas for my infant boys in 2017 and it still hangs on their room. I think of him fondly, often, and tell my boys about the kind man who painted it for them. Sending lots of love and prayers to his family.
