Obituary

Robertson, R. Bruce, III, 52, of Chesterfield and Gwynns Island, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, September 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, R.B. Bobby Robertson, Jr. and grandparents, Woodrow and Ilma Anderson. He is survived by his mother, Betty Anderson Robertson; sisters, Dora Lee Robertson and Mike Morse, Debbie A. Edwards and her husband, Joe, Bridget R. Posner and her husband, David; nieces and nephews, Brandon Sutton, his wife, Jamie, and their children, Lilli and Caleb, Joshua Sutton, Grace Edwards, Martin, Samuel, Andrew, and Lacy Posner; devoted companion, Dawn Simmons; best friend, Jim Allen; his cherished 18-year-old cat, Sydney; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bruce was a retired procurement supervisor with Chesterfield County Utilities Department and was currently working at the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The family will receive friends 4 to 8 pm on Saturday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 2 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 1108 E.     I worked with Bruce at Utilities and he was such a nice person. It was a pleasure knowing him and I know he will be missed. May God be with his family in this time of need.

  2. Dawn, My heart aches for you and Bruce’s family. I only knew Bruce for a short time, but knew right away that he was a special man! I know he will be missed. I will see you tomorrow. Just know that I am here for you! I love you!
